Why It's Not Always Possible To Be Positive

By Evan Sanders

In truth, you can't always be positive.

Why is that? Because without the negative times, how would you really begin to understand the value of the good times. You wouldn't. Instead, you wouldn't know the value of anything.

Sometimes you're going to have to be dragged through hell in order to get to heaven. You have to be willing to get back on the horse day after day no matter how many times you fall down because you believe in something greater than the challenging times of life. A famous psychologist Carl Jung once said, "The brighter the light the darker the shadow." And this is very very true as we are going throughout life developing. As we grow we experience bigger challenges.

Throughout everyones journey of self discovery, each and everyone one is looking to add value in life and become everything they are meant to be.

For years I've been willing to pull a lesson or learning point out of even the worst situations to help provoke thought in others. But what I'd like to share with you is that I am not always positive. Actually I don't ever force myself to be because that only creates inauthenticity.

We are all challenged by life. We are all suffering in one way or another. We all face the same pains and emotional struggles. These are all things that make us alike. However, if we can continue to put our hearts on the line day after day, we give ourselves the chance to actually live life instead of being scared all the time.

So yes, always look for the light in the dark, but you don't have to always push for positivity when it feels inauthentic to you. Some days are going to be very hard and make you want to cry. That's ok.

If we can express ourselves through the tough times, we allow others to love us and care for us in our darkest moments.

This is a real life. This is an honest life.
