One With The Spirit In A Christian Church

By Rebecca Fox

There are certain things that an individual is expected to do, like graduating from at least high school if not college. They are also expected to get a job. Then they are expected to enter into a romantic relationship with a person of the opposite gender, and while attitudes are changing, they are still largely firmly set. This romantic relationship of two people from opposite genders is then supposed to produce at least one child, and ideally, two or three. This new family is also supposed to live in a house behind a white picket fence, with the father putting on a suit and tie and then going to work each morning while the wife stays at the house and takes care of the family and the home itself. Society also dictates that every Sunday, that family must go to a place of worship, preferably a Christian church Wichita KS, and pray for at least an hour under the guidance of a reverend or a priest.

Now, people hold religious beliefs for a lot of reasons. For many, it is habit, something they did with their families growing up that stuck with them to adulthood. Others simply hold sincere beliefs in their particular deity of choice.

Throughout history, religion has shaped the world. It was in its name, under the banner of the cross, that many countries went out and colonized other countries. Faith was also the foundation of many monarchies, with spiritual leaders often wielding the same level or even greater levels of power than a monarch.

Christianity is the most widely practiced religion in the world. It is monotheistic, which means that it believes in a single supreme being who created the entirety of the universe and beyond. Now, it traces its roots back to a desert carpenter wandering around what is now called the Middle East and spreading a gospel of not being dicks to each other and helping the poor. It is a direct descendant of another monotheistic faith from the Middle East, Judaism.

A church does not have to be a whole building. It can be as small as a room. The main thing is that it is a place where people gather to worship and ruminate on the message of love spread by the desert carpenter. But they can also opulent, enough to be palaces unto themselves.

The sect with a nation state is Christianity and almost half of all of the followers in the world belong to it. For the longest time, it was the only sect around, and then several schisms happened around the Middle Ages. Now, depending on geographical location, some sects may be more prominent than others.

The messages will differ with each church. Others will remember that the carpenter reached love and forgiveness. Some will preach of punishing the guilty and of eternal damnation.

Now, while religion is all well and good when done right, there are some people out there who have no intention to do any kind of good. A great measuring stick for whether or not a preacher is legit is whether or not they ask for money for things like a private jet. The crucified carpenter wandered around in nothing but sandals to spread the gospel, but some preachers apparently think that they are better than that person and decide they need private jets.

People worship. Religion is a part of society. There are churches for that worship.
