The Success Of Inner Child Healing Techniques

By Andrew Johnson

Over the years, trauma therapists have experimented with a number of different methods in their practices. In recent times, therapists have found that inner child healing techniques have been seen to be more and more effective. This is often the case since people participate in practical methods during the sessions. In addition to this, they also are assigned tasks outside of the sessions.

There are therapists who are experienced in working with kids of all levels. They know how to relate to young ones who express themselves in different ways to that of adults. However, most of the time, it is adults who trauma therapists work with. A therapist needs to be just as patient here. Clients struggle with various issues relating to the trauma. It can relate to flashbacks, nightmares as well as other psychological disorders.

People are left with fears and phobias which they need to deal with. They are not comfortable within their own skin. They also have problems with other people who they are close to. It can include loved ones as well as those in the workplace. However, by discovering more about the underlying reasons for the fear, patients will be able to move on with their lives.

This is why the inner child technique can be so helpful. The client feels as if they are talking to themselves, while simply having the therapist observe. Over time, they will begin to connect with the psychologist and this is a natural process, which is often the best way forward. It can feel strange at first, but clients become more comfortable with the process as time goes by.

It can feel strange or uncomfortable talking to your inner child at first. The therapist may encourage their clients to write them a letter or to draw a picture. The creative process begins to take off. During this time, you will go back to your childhood and often become more childlike in nature. You will begin to look at the pictures of your childhood which helps you to see the changes over time.

The anger, suppression, depression and anxiety is coming from the inner child who has not resolved their feelings. When the adult becomes fearful and begins to panic, they are going back to the state where they were once this small child. This is why the individual needs to look at various problems associated with their inner child.

Meditation can also be something to think about during this time. You will attempt to remember that time in your life when you were fearful. It takes patience for images to come to mind. You can also attempt to visualize that happy place where you may begin to see the child. This is a great way to connect with the child as well. However, it works best when you turn this into a story.

As you begin to talk to your inner child, saying that you love him or her and that you are proud of him, for example, you will improve in so many different areas. It can include your self esteem, your level of confidence, the fact that you don't have any reason to feel shame or guilt. Of course, one needs to believe this and to absorb it.
