3 Keys To Finding A Christian Executive Coach

By Bertulda Zerna

Finding a Christian Executive Coach can be difficult. There are so many questions that come with inviting a coach into your life and business. How do I know if the coach is right for me? What if a coach steers me wrong? How much does coaching cost?

No one knows better than you what things you value most. Before you employ a counselor to help you lead, you should take some time to evaluate the goals you want to achieve. The job of a coach is to lead you in the direction of success and aid you in strengthening your weak areas. It is not a function of this individual to impose his or her beliefs on you.

Once you decide a counselor is the right course of action, you should be prepared to give an accurate and concise presentation to that individual about what you hope to achieve. It is the counselor's job to take the information under advisement and come up with a comprehensive plan.

Thirdly, make sure your coach is within your comfortable price range. You want a coach to stick with you for the long haul. You will not accomplish your goals in "3 Easy Steps" and they cannot help you in 3 meetings. Plan on partnering with your coach for 18-24 months. This will ensure a long enough relationship for them to move you towards your goals and for you to see results.

In some ways you might think of it as a kind of marriage. Once you make the commitment, you should plan to stick with it for the long haul.

There might be difficult issues to resolve and times when it seems discouraging, but the end result should reflect the effort made as a team.
